It's almost that time of year again! Here are a few reminders to help ensure you're promoting Small Business Saturday before, after and during this wonderful local holiday. There's still time to schedule ahead of time on Facebook and Twitter to ensure all your information goes out during this busy weekend.
To ensure more people see your posts on Facebook, consider running a Page Post Engagement ad for all your posts about Small Business Saturday, and only advertise these to your current likes.
Post before, during and after Small Business Saturday on Instagram. Remember that artsy and behind the scenes photos work best. If you're selling clothing/apparel/accessories/jewelry, wear the items as much as possible in your photos. And don't forget to list prices!
Make sure you're using holiday and local hashtags, especially on Twitter and Instagram.
Send emails before and during this weekend informing your database about sales and events.
Don't forget to post in real-time, while the store is busy or pictures of people lined up outside your store waiting to get in :) If this is going to be a really busy day, set an alarm on your phone to remind you to take some pictures, or put someone else in charge and ask them to take and post pictures during certain times (right when you open, and every couple of hours is ideal). You'll want to do this because more people are going to be on their mobile devices on this day, so you want to try to reach them on their phones.

There's still time to print signage from ShopSmall.com and put in your store window and throughout your store.
Use video to highlight customers, staff, sale items; etc. An easy way to do this is use the video feature on Instagram and take 2-3 second snapshots of individual items, add a photo filter if necessary and post to Instagram, sharing it to Facebook and Twitter (if you use these platforms too.)
Rally your community! There's still time to talk to other local businesses in your area and promote one another online. Leave postcards or flyers at their location with your events and Small Business Saturday offerings, and do the same for them.
Rally your customers! Ask customers to share your event, sales and pictures of themselves while their in store.
