Top Mobile Apps To Help Run Your Business

Chances are, you have a smartphone or you’re thinking about getting one this year. And as technology evolves and social media and email marketing becomes a bigger part of your business, I strongly suggest having a smartphone to help manage your store and your online marketing efforts. Since there’s thousands of applications out there, I wanted to provide you with a list of the apps I personally use to save time marketing my business. Plus, I’ve included a few apps to help other areas of your business that could help in your personal life too.

If you have experience with a mobile application that is not on this list, please share it with us all by leaving a comment on this blog post below.

Social Media:

  • Facebook Page Manager – This app is for your business page(s), not for your personal Facebook account. It lets admins check on their Page activity and view insights. You can also post real-time updates and photos, as well as respond to comments on your page(s). I suggest getting the push notifications for new activity, tips and reminders so you don’t miss a comment posted by a fan.

Available on: iPhone, Android

  • Hootsuite is a social media management system that makes it easy and convenient to manage all of your social profiles under one dashboard. The system integrates with key social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ Pages, YouTube, Flickr, Tumblr and more. I personally use this to manage all of my Twitter activity.

Available on: iPhone, Android

  • Pinterest – Using the Pinterest mobile app can save time when you want to add a quick pin. Let’s say you’re in the store, just got in some new products and want to share them with your community. Just take a quick picture of it and upload to Pinterest through the mobile app to let’s say your {New Arrivals} Pinterest board. That’s it! No more getting sucked in for hours by other pins, just quickly add your pin from your phone and move on with your day.
  • From the mobile app you can also explore pins and boards you’re interested in, search your own pins, find out when you've already pinned something, pin and pick boards more quickly.  The mobile app allows you to get push notifications to know when someone comments, likes or repins your stuff.

Available on: iPhone, Android

  • Instagram + #nocropLast week’s Crystal Media TV featured Instagram and how store owners can use it to spice up photos and to network with the Instagram community. You have to use a smartphone to use Instagram.

Available on: iPhone, Android, Windows

  • #nocrop (use with Instagram) - After adding a picture you’re prompted to crop the photo to a square. Not all photos you upload will fit in a square so to avoid anything getting cut off; I use #nocrop which allows me to post the full image by creating a plan background behind the vertical or horizontal image.

Email Marketing:mailchimpmobile.2069904692

  • Mail Chimp If Mail Chimp is your email service provider, make sure you download their mobile application so you can see how your MailChimp campaigns are performing, how your subscribers are sharing them, and how much revenue your campaigns are generating for you. You can also monitor your list growth and unsubscribes, and see which subscribers are most engaged.

Subscribers don't always request to be added to your list when they're sitting in front of their computers—sometimes they ask you in real life! Add those email addresses to a MailChimp list, directly from your phone. You can also edit subscriber profiles and add notes on the spot.
